About
The residential child care service is the founding service of Po Leung Kuk since establishment in 1878. The Kuk provides comprehensive care to children/young people who are in need of residential services, enabling them to thrive in a safe and healthy environment. The children, ranging from newborn to 18 years old are mainly from families with problems including child abuse or abandonment, separation or hospitalization of parents, etc.
The Kuk also provides training and day care services for children with special needs, who are physically / mentally handicapped, visually / hearing impaired and those with infantile autism. Tailor-made training such as speech therapy, physiotherapy and occupational therapy are offered for these children to enhance their growth and development. The Kuk has recently set up the “Special Children Development Fund” to encourage donation from the public to support the children with special needs in poor families.
