What They Do

The Mission for Migrant Workers (MFMW Limited) supports migrant workers in crisis and empowers them to regain dignity as human beings and workers in Hong Kong.

Facts

In 2020 alone, we assisted a total of 11,285 migrants. 
- Assisted over 1000  service users on their cases and monetary claims
- Addressed over 7000 rights-based inquiries at our outreach services 
- Helped our service users to recover over HK$3 million in monetary compensation
- Arranged shelter to over 850 migrants in distress
- Offered over 130 work and life skills trainings and
- Benefitted over 3000 participants. 

About

The Mission for Migrant Workers (MFMW Limited) is a registered charitable organisation in Hong Kong with our mission to support migrant workers in crisis and empower them to regain dignity. Established in 1981, MFMW is the longest existing independent service provider for migrant workers in Hong Kong and Asia.

Direct Services
MFMW’s direct services include provision of information and guidance, case support, shelter assistance and provision, as well as other rescue and emergency assistance to distressed migrant domestic workers. Besides, we work with over 100 migrant organizations to set up outreach Migrant Care Centers on Sundays to engage and support migrant domestic workers from different areas in Hong Kong.​

Empowerment

Apart from direct services, we provide training and education to the migrant community to make sure they are aware of their rights, as well as provided with opportunities to develop their work and life skills while they are working in Hong Kong. In 2020 alone, we offered over 130 sessions of work and life skills trainings that benefitted over 3000 participants.

Support Us:
HK$100 will feed and shelter one unemployed worker for one day 
HK$300 will provide one worker with Life and Work Skills Training 
HK$500 will support a day's work for a migrant care centre and outreach on Sundays to 350 workers 
HK$1000 will support a migrant domestic worker to pursue cases of justice
